I like what you had to say on self care. It is easy for me to do for others even when it isn't always practicle.

Celeste Smucker

This is all so true. I believe balance is critical to happiness and fulfillment...and consistency may be one of the biggest challenges. I got myself a massage yesterday...but only because the therapist called and asked if I'd like to schedule one. She'd heard i was experiencing some challenges. Your point about self care is right on.

Amy Hagerup

I too am very interested in living a balanced life. And you are right - we have to be careful of slipping back into unbalance. YOur point about people might be accustomed to you living an unbalanced life is well-taken. We have to continually be proactive in what we take on. Sometimes we feel good about being asked to do things but it might not be what God wants us to do.

Hi Mark. Yes, for whatever reason it is soo much easier for us to be concerned with the needs of others before we think our ourselves. I think that we have been conditioned that if we think of ourselves first we are being selfish. But we have to remember that it is necessary for us to take care of ourselves. If not, we will find that we will be running on empty. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments.

Hi Celeste. Good for you on making the appointment with the massage therapist. Living a life of balance also takes practice. We have to practice making the time for ourselves. I'm glad you didn't put off making the appointment when your therapist callled. The important thing is that you did do something that was for you. Thanks for reading and for your comments. Take care.

Hi Amy. You have a great point. I do think that often we are honored that someone may rely on us. But we do need to determine if it is indeed what God would want to to do. Sometime it may be the right thing, but the it may not be the right time. We constantly have to pray to be sure we are in tune with what He wants us to do. Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate your comments. Take care. ~ Robin
