It is an amazing feeling when you discover what are purposed to do in life. Things start to make sense once you make that discovery. There is a big adjustment that you may have to make after you
uncover what you are meant to do. You may be excited and want things to immediately fall into place. However, there is often a time delay between discovering your purpose and living in your purpose. But don't dismay. There are plenty of productive things that can happen while you are waiting.
I like to think of the time that exists between discovering your purpose and actually living in your purpose as the developmental phase. This is where you can gain additional experience and skills that will propel you toward what you are intended to do. A lot of work occurs in this time gap. Your challenges, disappointments, and your successes all help drive you toward living in your purpose and on purpose.
The time you experience between discovering and living in your purpose is valuable. There is plenty of work that you can do. This work will help you use this time proactively and productively. During this time, you can focus on doing the following:
- Furthering Your Education. You can use this time to gain a formal or informal education in the area of your purpose. Learning new skills can give you the information you need to ensure you can successfully carry out your purpose. You can also use this time to fine tune the existing skill set that you already have. In life, there is always room for improvement.
- Get a Coach or a Mentor. Align yourself with someone who is successfully walking in their purpose. They can provide you with invaluable insight as to what it takes to actually live purposefully. A coach can provide you with inspiration, clarity, hold you accountable and celebrate your success with you. You can also have officially or unofficially mentors. Use these relationships as a chance to ask questions about how they became and maintain their success.
- Plan strategically. Establish some goals that will get you closer to living in your purpose. These goals should contain actionable steps that you take to make progress. Be sure to adapt your goals while you are on your journey. Aim high and don't put limits on yourself.
- Stay Focused. During your journey you will undoubtedly suffer some setbacks. There will be times when you feel like you just want to forget it. During these periods you must stay encouraged and focused. You will ultimately experience the joy of living in your purpose when you maintain clarity.
Commit yourself to making the most of this developmental phase. You never know what opportunities will present themselves. Ultimately, you want to position yourself so that you are ready to walk through any doors that may open that will allow you to live in your purpose. Use your time wisely.

Great points-thanks again! In my life it was a great moment when I realized my purpose. However maybe even greater moment was when I had done 3-year plan for myself how I would start to change and develop my life. You may have hundreds of thoughts in your head but only some of them you write on paper. And after you have written them on paper, set goals and made plan, your thoughts really start to become true!
